Experience

I taught English as a Second Language in Thailand for one year and liked it so much I completed a Master's in TESL when I got back to the States! Developing individualized educational plans and using the best teaching techniques is what I like best about tutoring. The MA in ESL enables me to use the language learning methods that are best suited for each individual. In addition to having many teaching techniques ready to go, I also research the latest teaching methods for each student to provide a quality language learning experience. In addition to teaching at a primary school in Thailand I have also tutored international students at the college level. One of the most challenging (and most fun!) tutoring situations I've had was working with an entire family of refugees recently settled in the US. I worked with the entire family in each session. Developing meaningful lessons that the two parents and 6 kids, from 4 to 13 years old, could all participate in was a great experience!
